About

Photography

The photography part of my business is wide ranging in scope: from sport to performance, events to architecture and products to documentary.

I favour clean, bright, modern images; sometimes black and white, but always with a strong visual appeal.

Having discussed your requirements and taken your pictures, I provide you with a password to access a private section of this website, for you to review and download the images you require.

The pictures can also be made available to any other parties in the same way.

My fees are dependent on the type of job and the time commitment involved.

Painting

To me, portraiture is both a challenge and a source of fascination. What I'm aiming for, is a proper sense of my sitter, reflective of personality and stage of life. Primarily, I see it as a fantastic opportunity to both freeze and show the passage of time; to benchmark and to celebrate.

My most recent project involves painting people I admire, who truly have a passion for what they do and who in some instances have had a significant impact on my life. The portrait of Bernard Purdie (who played on most of the music I grew up listening to - Aretha Franklin's records in particular) is the first in this series and the portrait of my father, Peter Moorhouse, is the most recent addition. In a sense, I’m aiming at producing a body of work which will turn out to be my own self portrait.

Over the last few years, I have painted portraits for King’s College London and Rhodes House Oxford and my work is featured in private collections in Europe, America and Australia. My portrait of Ailsa Fairleigh was shown by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters as part of their annual open exhibition, at the Mall Galleries, London.
